Release That Karate Kid In You!

The Okinawan Karate Club (OKC) is now accepting new students for our fall programs.

Are you looking for a healthy activity for your child or yourself? At the OKC we can help build confidence, a good healthy respect for exercise and discipline while learning a serious martial art along with the useful and practical skills of self-defense.

About the OKC

The OKC is one of the oldest and most well-established schools in the Stoughton, Canton, Sharon MA area. Founded in 1978, we continue to serve our students and community by offering the best in martial arts training for children and adults. The traditional style of Okinawan Uechi Ryu karate and self-defense are taught by highly qualified and Okinawan-certified instructors. Separate classes are held for adults and children. Our students start as young as 4 years of age.

Objectives

The goals of the OKC are to establish a well-rounded and well-balanced karate program that will help our students appreciate and understand the importance of good health through exercise. All programs focus on the development of a student's self-esteem, confidence, and martial arts/self-defense skills.

"Karate ni sente nashi"

Why Study Karate? "There is no first attack in Karate." This phrase embodies the essential spirit of Okinawan karate. Although karate is a martial art, it must be a defensive art from beginning to end. The focus of our program is not kicking and punching, as much as it is the development of a student's character.
