- Stand with heels together and hands by your side
- Bow, and perform the first eight movements of Sanchin opening, stepping
out with the left foot. Left sanchin stance.
- Execute a right sanchin thrust and step through to a right sanchin
stance.
- Execute a left sanchin thrust and step through to a left sanchin stance.
- Execute a right sanchin thrust.
- Draw both hands back in to the solar plexus, palms facing the ground and
fingers extended forward and slightly raised, thumbs tucked in, while
sliding forward.
- Once forward execute a double mawashi strike with both hands to the
temples (striking with the ridge hands). The strike lands when the step
ends.
- Bring the right hand back to the center of the chest, and strike up in a
an elliptical motion to face level (striking with the bushiken) while
bringing the left hand back to the solar plexus as the right hand
extends out. Execute two more strikes in the same elliptical manner
(right, left, right).
- End the previous move by bringing both hands to the belt-knot, with the
right hand over the left, fingers pointed upward and strike to neck,
striking with the fingertips.
- Demonstrate a knee strike, chest high with the right knee while bringing
both hands to post position. Correct your posture and maintain a crane
stance with hands posted chest level, knee up, toes pointed down and in.
- Land forward to a right sanchin stance and execute a left groin strike
to the front and a right groin strike to the rear at the same time.
Swinging arms, not lifting.
- Mawate turn to a left sanchin stance and execute the same groin strikes
again, followed by a left wa uke.
- Step through into a right sanchin stance and execute a right groin
strike followed by a right wa uke.
- Step through into a left sanchin stance and execute a left groin strike
followed by a left wa uke.
- Draw both hands to the belt as in the sanchin opening, slide forward and
thrust straight out striking with the bushikens at waist height.
(Grabbing obliques)
- Squeezing into double shoken fists, lift both hands to chest level while
turning to the right in a right sanchin stance. Elbows in, maintaining
sanchin arm position.
- Execute a left wa uke, drive forward to a right leaning stance and
execute an hiji tsuki with the right elbow. Slide the right foot back to
a right sanchin stance and do a right wa uke, followed by a left
bushiken (face level). Then, do a left wa uke followed by right nukite
(rib level strike)
- Pivot to a left sanchin stance. Step through and block with a left wa
uke and a right tetsui-uchi. Hit the left hand with the strike, temple
level. Do a right wa uke followed by a left bushiken face level.
- Pull the front foot back and pivot to the right in a right sanchin
stance. Do a right wa uke followed by a left nukite (rib level strike).
- Mawate to a left sanchin stance. Do a left wa uke and a left shomen
geri. Pause, show a right knee strike. Stabilize the knee with the left
blocking hand ( bring the knee to the hand) and pull it back to the
original foot position (rear foot of left sanchin stance). Bend slightly
at the waist, and perform three shoken punches low, starting with the
right hand. ( chamber each strike)
- Bring the hands back to sanchin position, pause, and then execute a
right sanchin arm thrust.
- Pivot to the right in a right sanchin stance and execute a left sanchin
arm thrust.
- Mawate to a left sanchin stance and execute a right sanchin arm thrust.
- Slide forward and do a left wa uke followed by a right nukite (rib
level).
- Step through to a right sanchin stance. Do a right wa uke followed by a
left nukite (rib level).
- Step through into a left sanchin stance. Do a left wa uke followed by a
right nukite (rib level).
- Step through into a deep right leaning horse stance placing the hands
into sanchin position by sliding the right arm under the left, the right
hand should be slightly forward of the left hand.
- Jump back on to the right leg by lifting the right foot straight off the
ground and moving the knee back through chamber position. The left foot
should be lifted to a chambered position. In order to keep balance upon
landing, drive the right foot down to the ground and keep the knee bent.
- At the same time the left leg moves to a chamber position, the right
hand moves to a position by the side of your head (as saluting). Bring
the left hand down to kokken position by the side of the left knee.
- Then, jump forward into a right leaning stance and do a left wa uke.
Follow that with a right cross body elbow strike (stabilize the strike
with the left blocking hand), an uraken (chin height), and a shoken
(chest level).
- Slide the right foot back to a neutral stance, placing the right hand in
a sanchin position and the left hand in post position.
- Place the hands by the sides, heels together and bow.
